FacePong has no accounts and never asks who you are. Your face photo stays on your phone, except when it appears on your opponent’s screen during an online match. We collect anonymous usage statistics (like “a game was played”) to understand how the game is doing. We don’t sell data, and we don’t track you across other apps or websites.
When you set a face, the photo is processed into a cutout on your device and stored only on your device. We never upload it for processing.
If you play an online match, your face cutout is transmitted over an encrypted connection through our game server to your opponent so it can be shown as your paddle. It is held in the server’s memory only for the duration of the match room and is never written to disk or stored after the match ends. Opponents’ faces shown to you are likewise kept only for that match.
We use PostHog to collect anonymous usage events — things like app opened, game started, game finished, and match duration. This is tied to a random identifier generated on your device, not to your name, email, phone number, or any account (there are none). We use it to count players and games so we can keep improving FacePong.
FacePong asks for camera access only when you choose “Take a selfie,” and photo library access only when you choose “Choose a photo.” Both are used solely to set your paddle face. You can play without granting either — a default face is provided.
FacePong does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. There are no accounts, chats, or profiles.
